UPDATE – Ityamai-Itpina (Park 15) Soil Testing Preliminary Results

The content of this media release is over six months old and may no longer be current.

Preliminary results of the site-specific assessment of soil contamination in Ityamai-itpina (Park 15) Glover East Playground have been received by Council and are currently being evaluated with a view to reopening the play space to the public.

While Council is yet to receive the final report from its consultants, early advice indicates that the assessment has not identified any health risk issues of concern related to former and potentially current uses of Ityamai-itpina (Park 15) Glover East Playground for recreational purposes.

With regards to testing soil at the other play spaces, here’s the list:

  • Pardipardinyalla, Bushy Magic Playspace (park 2)
  • Nantu Wama, Glover Playspace, Le Fevre Terrace (aka Helicopter Park) (Park 6)
  • Warnpangga, Lower North Adelaide Playspace (Park 10)
  • Murlawirrapurka, Rymill Park Playspace (Park 14)
  • Pityarilla (Park 19)
  • Kurangga, Glover Playspace, South Terrace (Park 20)
  • Wirraninthi, Glover Playspace, South Terrace (Park 23)
  • Tulya Wardi, Bonython Park Playspace adjacent the Boat Pond (Park 27)
