The content of this media release is over six months old and may no longer be current.

Work to relocate the Pedestrian Actuated Crossing on Frome Street near the Adelaide Zoo to bring it into line with the new Zoo entrance that was completed as part of the Zoo upgrade in 2010 has commenced.

Traffic restrictions will be in place through the course of the work and while road lanes will not be closed, traffic management including a speed restriction to 25km/h will be implemented throughout the project works.

The relocation will be carried out between 7.00am and 3.00pm Monday to Saturday and noise will be kept to a minimum.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead or seek alternative routes to their destinations throughout the work.

The work on Frome Road will improve the pedestrian amenity at the crossing as well as reducing the crosswalk time.

Works are scheduled to be completed by 9 August 2013 at which time traffic management will return to normal.
