PARK 15 - Update on Temporary Closure

The content of this media release is over six months old and may no longer be current.

Preliminary findings from the site-specific soil assessment and Human Health Risk Assessment (HHRA) in Ityamai-itpina (Park 15) Glover East Playground have been received by Council and have been evaluated with a view to reopening the play space to the public.

In a letter received by Council, the consultants concluded “that there were no unacceptable risks to human health associated with the historic, current or future use of the area as a playground by any site users including children and site workers.”

And “In terms of risks to the health of site users, there is no reason for keeping the Glover East playground closed.”

We will be happy to provide a spokesperson to discuss the reopening of the playground at that time.
