Public Transport

Adelaide is well serviced by public transport. Adelaide Metro run buses, and trams through the city and trains to and from surrounding suburbs. Fees apply. Check the Adelaide Metro website for timetables and fare information, or ask at the Adelaide Railway Station. You can ride the tram free of charge between South Terrace, Adelaide Entertainment Centre and Botanic Gardens. Beyond this fees apply and tickets must be validated. For your convenience, there are also two free City Connector Bus services: one offering an inner city circuit between major tourist attractions, the other extending out to North Adelaide. It’s a great way to see the sites when you’re on a budget.

Taxis and ride-share

There are a range of chauffeur, taxi and ride-share options readily available in Adelaide. For passengers with a disability, Suburban Access Taxis have vehicles fitted with hydraulic lifts, allowing those in wheelchairs and scooters to be transported securely and respectfully.

E-Scooters

Two operators e-scooter share programs currently operate in the city’s central business district and North Adelaide, providing a fun and convenient way to move about the city. The e-scooters, are unlocked using a smartphone app and are fitted with GPS tracking so that users and the operator can find them.

Share bikes 

Bike sharing is an easy-to-access bike hire service. The bike sharing provider is Adelaide is Airbike, a station-less bike sharing platform operated and paid for by using your smartphone. 

To start riding To ride a share bike in the city and North Adelaide, simply download the Airbike app to your mobile device and then set up your account. When you're ready, use the app to locate and unlock a bike. Legally you must wear a helmet while riding a bike and as a cyclist, you have the same rights and responsibilities as other road users.

Parking

If you're driving into our beautiful city, Adelaide has the highest number of available parking spaces and the lowest parking fees of all Australian capital cities.
