If you’re new to Adelaide, the friendly volunteers at the Adelaide Visitor Information Centre have all the inside information on the best the city has to offer.

The Adelaide Visitor Information Centre is located in James Place, just off Rundle Mall, (opposite the Myer Centre). It offers assistance to local, interstate and overseas visitors. The Centre is staffed by knowledgeable, enthusiastic volunteers who can assist you with directions, brochures, maps, event guides and journey planning that will help you make the most of your time in Adelaide and South Australia.

Free short-term wheelchair and pusher hire is available.

Adelaide Greeters offers personalised orientation walks of the city, tailored to your interests and available in multiple languages. Our passionate and knowledgeable volunteers will help you discover Adelaide through various iconic attractions, providing travel advice as well as giving you a local’s perspective on what makes Adelaide one of the most liveable, innovative and creative small cities of the world. Adelaide Greeters is for small family groups and individuals, it is not available for groups. Maximum 6-8 people.

Our Greeters are part of the Global Greeter Network, and this service is growing quickly in popularity! Booking is simple. just fill in and submit the Visitor Request Form or book via email.

First Steps in Adelaide

Adelaide Visitor Information Centre

Our First Steps in Adelaide orientation walk will get you quickly acquainted with Rundle Mall and the nearby precinct including major attractions, public transport and current events.

The walk departs from the Adelaide Visitor Information Centre every weekday (excluding public holidays) at 9:30 am. Bookings are not required.

When you're exploring the city, be sure to keep an eye out for our roaming volunteer City Guides. Our City Guides are super knowledgeable and keen to help you with any question you may have. They can assist with directions, what’s on in the city, or public transport advice.

The Info Bike

Our trusty Info Bike makes the rounds at major events with guides and ideas on what to do in beautiful Adelaide. Be sure to keep an eye out!

The Central Market Information Booth has friendly volunteers  who are ready and waiting to get your food journey on its way. They can help you locate stalls, find ingredients within the Central Market and dish up the latest information on local attractions, events and transport services.
