Children's History Trail

 A free activity for the little ones. Children collect a booklet from the Adelaide Arcade Museum and follow the trail to answer all the questions. 

Located at Adelaide Arcade enter via Rundle Mall or Grenfell Street.

Adelaide Zoo

Pop on your hats and get ready to meet some of the City's cutest residents with a trip to the Adelaide Zoo. With more than 2,500 curious species on show from reptiles right up to the magnificent giant pandas, sleepovers at the zoo, educational keepers talk, a nature inspired playground and even a petting zoo, Adelaide Zoo has it all.

City Library

What better way to spend a day with the kids than exploring at City Library in the heart of Rundle Mall. Aside from being a bookworm’s dream, there are also spaces dedicated to tech and innovation.

Get creative and make the doorstop of your dreams with a 3D printer, program a robot that can do the Macarena, travel to outer space with the virtual reality gear and more.

Adelaide Aquatic Centre

Walk through the doors of the Adelaide Aquatic Centre and you'll find a warm aquatic adventure. Slip and slide, or enjoy the splash pads and water play equipment. The Hammerhead inflatable also makes an appearance every day of the school holidays from 12pm-4pm in the dive pool. 

There are two lawned areas with free electric BBQ facilities available within the centre making it easy for families and friends to have a BBQ or a picnic after a swim. Additional BBQ facilities are also available in the adjacent Park Lands as well as the Bush Magic Playground.

South Australian Museum

Walk with the Dinosaurs, learn about the Egyptians or investigate the largest collection of Aboriginal artefacts in the world at the South Australian Museum - guaranteed to keep imaginations ticking.

There's plenty on offer during the school holidays too with a program that offers unique opportunities for children to connect with and be excited by science and culture.

Art Gallery of South Australia

Have you heard about START at the Art Gallery of South Australia? It's held on the first Sunday of every month. It's FREE and introduces visual art to children (aged 3-12) and their families.

The Art Gallery also has a collection of over 38,000 works of art, sure to get the imagination going and inspire any young budding artist.

Adelaide Botanic Gardens

The Botanic Gardens have activities designed to promote fun, hands-on learning about plants, people and the environment. There are loads of sessions which allow your bubbas to get creative and get their hands dirty! 

Go for a leisurely stroll and explore all the native and exotic flora and fauna. While you're there, why not bring your picnic blanket, and have yourselves a lovely spring picnic?
