Late Night Dining

{alt_text}

Burgers on Peel Street, spaghetti in the East End and Cantonese favourites in the Market Quarter. Even after 9pm, there are plenty of options to sink your teeth into.

Bread & Bone Wood Grill

 15 Peel Street, Adelaide

Website

 Open until 11:00pm

This Peel Street eatery has a smoky flame roaring quietly in their open kitchen, and a soft serve ice cream machine to churn up a rotating selection of flavours for dessert. Choose from the classic cheeseburger, the soft shell crab or some sticky beef ribs. Bread & Bone doesn’t take bookings, but after the dinner rush numbers start to dwindle. At best you’ll be seated straight away and at worst there’ll be enough time to squeeze in another drink at their secret downstairs bar (just push the crease in the wall by the ladies’ toilets).

Go-in Hot Pot

 31-39 Gouger St, Adelaide

 Website

 Open until 11:30pm

Ever wonder what happened to that hot pot train eatery in the middle of Hindley Street? Well, it’s alive and thriving. An easy to miss doorway on Gouger Street will lead you upstairs to an entire second floor dedicated to bubbling bowls of chili soaked soups and a buffet of dipping sauces to try. The train part has disappeared, and made way for even more hot pot. Expect a wait on weekends if you turn up without a booking.

La Trattoria

 346 King William St, Adelaide

 Website

 Open until 12:00am

La Trattoria is known well to most Adelaide locals, and rightfully so, because the restaurant is celebrating its 50th birthday in 2018. Three generations of the Parisi family have run the business to this day, dishing up pasta, pizza and handmade gnocchi until midnight on King William Street’s southern end. If a casual bite is more your style, order a pizza from the takeaway counter just next door.

Midnight Spaghetti

 196 Grenfell St, Adelaide

 Website

Open until 2:00am Wednesday to Saturday and 1:00am on Sunday.

Unlike the name suggests, Midnight Spaghetti doesn’t open or close at midnight. Instead, it’s somewhere that allows pasta lovers to meet and eat in and around that am/pm hour. The modern interior was designed by local design firm, Sans-Arc, and gives the old upstairs pub venue its second wind. Try a classic carbonara, spaghetti polpette (meatballs), or zucchini noodles with tomato and ricotta for a lighter option.
