Summer is just around the corner which means balmy nights spent at bars. Here are some places to quench your thirst.
23rd on Melbourne
129 Melbourne Street, North Adelaide SA 5006
While there are pubs aplenty in North Adelaide, the boutique bar has remained elusive - until now. Renmark's Twenty Third Street distillery has brought their wares to the big smoke and set up shop on Melbourne Street. The experience is bar meets cellar door. There are all the usual suspects like wine and craft beer but visitors are also encouraged to sample range of spirits on offer through the choice of three tasting flights. The knowledgeable staff will walk you through the distilling process as well as the personality behind each variety. The food offering is small but with truffle fries as good as theirs, you won't need much else.

Hains & Co
23 Gilbert Place, Adelaide SA 5000
If you have the spirit of a sailor and a thirst to match, Hains & Co is the perfect spot for you to anchor yourself for the night. The crew at this nautical-inspired bar are purveyors of fine whisky, cigars, gin and rum and are comimitted to 'Lifting Spirits' across Adelaide - one drink at a time.
Keep an eye out for the monthly 'Break Even Bottle' which is a rare bottle of whisky that quite often costs a pretty four-digit penny. Hains & Co aim to provide punters the opportunity to purchase a shot and access this special experience without forking over the big bucks required for the entire bottle.

28 Vardon Avenue, Adelaide SA 5000
Inspired by a trip to Louisiana, NOLA has been bringing some New Orleans sass to the East End since 2015. More is more here, with an abundance of craft beer and whiskey feature. Whisky connoisseurs will be in their element with over 200 globally-sourced varieties to warm the soul. NOLA recognises craft beer as a community and a successful Pozible campaign resulted in their 16 tap beer system. The taps rotate with craft and independent brews from across the globe, making every day a new frothy adventure.
Be sure to cast your hungry eyes over the Cajun and Creole-influenced food menu. Made to share, you can build your bites based on your appetite with snacks like charred corn or stuffed roast jalapenos, or opt for something heartier like the beef ribs.

West Oak Hotel
208 Hindley Street, Adelaide SA 5000
Lonely Planet has named the West End one of Australia’s coolest neighbourhoods and the West Oak Hotel makes it easy to see why. Taking over the old Worldsend space, the West Oak Hotel unveiled a sleek new take on the Aussie pub in 2017 whilst also paying homage to longstanding traditions.
The 179-year-old space has a little something for every mood. Spend your afternoons lounging on a chesterfield, soaking up some sunshine in the beer garden, or swirling a red from the Jolly Bar while you explore some art upstairs. If you’re feeling peckish, the West Oak Deli has joined forces with SA favourites like Barossa Fine Foods and Say Cheese to make toastie and sanga dreams come true.
