Timelines

2021

  • On 23 June 2021, the State Commission Assessment Panel (SCAP) granted Development Plan Consent to the proposal.
  • September: Launch of the Sales Centre and demonstration apartment
    • Retail and commercial leasing is underway
    • Construction of the building anticipated to commence in 2022 and be complete in 2025
  • On 2 November 2021, Commercial & General lodged an application for approval under the new state planning system (Planning and Design Code), to ensure the project’s certainty. There is no change to the design in this application.
    • The development has been classified as a Performance Assessed (notified) Application and can be viewed online. For more information, on this type of development application please visit the Plan SA website.

2020

  • December: Council selects Commercial & General to develop the site and endorses a design concept. At its meeting on the 8 December 2020, Council received and approved the Public Prudential Report.

2019

  • February: Expressions of Interest submissions evaluated by Council
  • March: Council shortlists developers for Stage 2 – Request for Detailed Proposals
  • April: The Stage 2 – Request for Detailed Proposals commenced
  • November: Council selects a preferred developer to commence commercial negotiations

2018

  • February: City of Adelaide takes ownership of the site
  • May: Community consultation begins
  • June: Guiding Principles created to inform development
  • July: Community consultation on Guiding Principles
  • September: Expression of Interest process commences
