Project overview
Works are continuing as part of the broader Botanic Creek Rehabilitation Project, helping to improve the health, resilience and enjoyment of this important Park Lands waterway.
The next stage of works will take place along Botanic Creek in Rundle Park / Kadlitpina (Park 13), with a smaller area of works in Victoria Park / Pakapakanthi (Park 16). The works are expected to take approximately three months to complete.
What the project will deliver
The rehabilitation works will help create a healthier and more resilient creek environment by:
- improving water quality and water flow
- reducing erosion and sediment build-up
- creating better habitat for native plants and wildlife
- upgrading footpaths and improving access through Park 13
- renewing the existing pedestrian bridge
- constructing abutments to support a temporary event bridge
- revegetating areas of the creek with native plant species.
Existing trees will be protected throughout construction.
Why these works are important
Botanic Creek is an important part of the Adelaide Park Lands and plays a role in managing water, supporting biodiversity and providing a greener, more enjoyable environment for the community.
These works build on earlier rehabilitation along the creek and will help improve its long-term ecological health while making the surrounding Park Lands more attractive, accessible and enjoyable for people to use.
Access during construction
Some footpaths through Rundle Park / Kadlitpina (Park 13) will be temporarily closed while works are underway.
A signed pedestrian detour will be in place to help people move safely around the work area. Please refer to the detour map and follow on-site signage.

Works commenced: July 2026
Expected completion: Late September 2026, weather permitting
