City of Adelaide values volunteers and has a diverse range of roles available for individuals and families.
Volunteer activities contribute significantly to the positive experiences of residents, businesses, visitors and students, as well as providing a sense of pride and value in the volunteers themselves.

Our volunteer vision
When you volunteer at the City of Adelaide, you’ll be given the opportunity to share passions, abilities and skills in meaningful ways that strengthen the community.
Activities of City of Adelaide’s volunteer program:
- create a sense of belonging,
- enable creative expression,
- promote social inclusion,
- challenge inequity,
- encourage sustainable practices,
- promote wellbeing in city communities.
Activities of volunteer program also contribute to the delivery of the City of Adelaide Strategic Plan.
Getting involved
We welcome applications from those who can volunteer over a minimum time span of six months. check out the vacancies on the current volunteer vacancies page, then take a moment to read the volunteer handbook and before you apply.
Once lodged, you will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your application. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend an interview to discuss their application.
If your application is approved, you will go through a short induction process, then meet with your assigned volunteer supervisor for an on-site induction to the area that you will volunteer.
