Make Music Day 2026 Expression of interest

Make Music Day returns on Saturday 20 June 2026, transforming the city into a stage from morning to midnight.

In 2025, Make Music Day showcased over 220 performers in over 40 venues across the city and North Adelaide and was a finalist in the 2025 SA Music Awards Best Large Music Festival category.

We’re inviting South Australian musicians, music facilitators and venues to be part of a citywide celebration of local sound – spanning iconic venues and unexpected spaces including bars, cafés, galleries, bookstores and retail spaces.

We are encouraging musicians from a range of diverse backgrounds, ages, career stage and genres to consider this opportunity.

Performance fees will be paid to all participating artists.

From grassroots and early career to established artists, all practicing musicians from the many diverse music communities of South Australia are encouraged to apply, from solo artists to duos, trios and bands, with a focus on original music.

All programmed performances of the day are paid opportunities.

Those seeking to lead music focused workshops are also encouraged to apply.

Successful applicants will be paired with a participating venue and other artists who have applied via the EOI process.

Already have a gig or workshop booked in the City of Adelaide on the day? We can include it in our Make Music Day lineup to maximise awareness and promotion.

Any business, venue, bar, restaurant or retail space in the City of Adelaide local government area – the CBD and North Adelaide - is eligible to participate as a venue for Make Music Day.

Support is available to ensure appropriate technical infrastructure is present to facilitate performances.

Successful artists will be paired with participating venues to create a diverse, curated program across the city.
