Free Fitness Facilities

Fasten your laces and prepare for your heart to race! Make the most of the free work out equipment, courts and running tracks in the fresh air of the Adelaide Park Lands. The serene sights, sounds, smells of nature while you exercise, make it all the more appealing to pop by on the weekend or even on your way home.

Sweat

If the gym isn’t your thing, then the Adelaide Park Lands may be your workout wonderland. Enjoy the sunshine while using the free fitness stations which provide opportunities for weight training, cardio, stretching and interval training. The sweat track in Victoria Park is perfect for a sprint session and outdoors circuit class all in one!

Play

Pump up the basketball, dig out the tennis rackets and bring your a-game! There are dozens of tennis, netball and basketball courts that are free to access throughout the Adelaide Park Lands. Many are open to the public at all times and a handful are licensed to schools but if it’s empty – start playing! If a school or person who has paid to book a court arrives, finish up your game and hop over to another park.

Jump and Bowl

And now for something completely different… If you’re a fan of walking the path less travelled then you may be interested in taking up the hobby of long jump or pentanque. Pentanque is a variety of boules, or bocce, and it may surprise you to know there are courts (pentanque pistes) in five locations throughout Adelaide Park Lands!
