Economic Development Australia (EDA) and the local organising committee is delighted to announce that the National Economic Development Conference 2019 (NEDC19) will be held in Adelaide, SA at the InterContinental Adelaide from 23 – 25 October 2019.

Conference Overview

As the flagship event for EDA, the peak national body for economic development practitioners, the national event will attract more than 200 economic development leaders from across Australia. The event will also host thought leaders in industry development, representatives from all levels of government and the key organisations with an interest in Australia’s prosperity and economic growth.

NEDC19 will feature a compelling program of highly regarded thought-leaders whose knowledge and expertise will challenge delegates, and encourage robust dialogue around the conference’s central themes Leveraging Smart Cities for Economic Development and Digital Globalism, Digital Localism.

What NEDC19 Includes

Two full days of informative and interactive sessions for delegates including keynote speakers, experts in fields related to the conference themes and a half day pre-conference masterclass.

EDA’s National Economic Development Awards for Excellence will announce the winners and provide an opportunity for business and professional networking, as will the welcome reception, conference gala dinner and EDA awards and the masterclass.

Selected government and industry organisations will have the opportunity to exhibit at the conference.

Call for Abstracts

This year, the conference organising committee is introducing a new presentation format called “IGNITE sessions”. During these sessions, each speaker will have five (5) minutes to present their case/project to the audience.

The City of Adelaide and EDA invite authors or organisations interested in submitting an abstract for an IGNITE session, of no more than 300 words, outlining the aim, content and conclusion of their presentation to do so by 17 May 2019.
