How to dispose of items not collected by Council
There are some waste items generated by businesses that are not collected by Council. To help you, we’ve put together a guide as to where you can legally dispose of these items.
Please note: fees may apply for the services listed below. They are the responsibility of the individual business.
Hard waste
Examples of hard waste include furniture, whitegoods and building materials.
Business hard waste can be disposed at waste transfer stations, including:

Food waste
Council does not presently provide an organics recycling service to businesses that are eligible for its kerbside 140 litre (red lid) waste and 240 litre (yellow lid) recycling service.

Hazardous waste
Council does not currently provide a collection and disposal service for hazardous waste. Businesses should engage a private contractor to remove such items.
Electronic waste
Businesses use a variety of electronic items, including computers, televisions, mobile phones, light globes and whitegoods.
The National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme provide householders and small business with access to free drop-off services for televisions and computers. This scheme is funded by the television and computer industry and builds on existing recycling efforts by council.
The scheme is open to small businesses only and there are several sites accepting old TVs and computers free of charge that are convenient to the city including:
