Discover The Angels Lane

The Angels Lane was launched on 4 August, with members of the band past and present in attendance, including family members of the late Doc Neeson and Chris Bailey.

The Angels Lane runs from Hindley to Morphett Street and is in close proximity to live music venues and clubs of the City’s West End, including Hindley Street Music Hall, the location for the project’s centrepiece mural.

The Angels massive breakthrough moment came in 1978. Their smash-hit album Face to Face achieved 4-times platinum status with rhythm section Graham ‘Buzz’ Bidstrup and Chris Bailey. Electrifying live performances and enduring hits, including ‘Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again’, ‘Take A Long Line’, ‘No Secrets’, ‘Marseille’ and ‘Shadow Boxer’, secured The Angels’ place in Australian rock history. Over five decades, The Angels have taken on various incarnations. Today, the Brewster Brothers continue to perform under the band’s name, carrying on a family legacy that began with their grandfather Hooper Brewster-Jones, commemorated on the Jubilee 150 Walk on North Terrace.

Visitors to The Angels Lane will discover a tribute of artworks by the artist team CAPITAL WASTE (Liam Somerville) and Vans the Omega (Joel Van Moore). Thanks to two stand out murals, a series of light boxes, and gobo lights, the experience is electrifying both day and night. Combined, these works celebrate the band’s legacy, theatrical stage presence and revolutionary sound.
