ADL Unleashed - Request for proposals

ADL Unleashed is a collaborative initiative by the City of Adelaide, Adelaide Economic Development Agency (AEDA), and State Government of South Australia, designed to drive visitation and economic activity in the city.

The initiative invites visitors to experience an even wider range of events, offers and other activations, encouraging them to visit, stay, spend and most of all, experience Adelaide.

More than this, ADL Unleashed represents the feelings and desires that unite us; the desire to let loose and unleash, to put restrictions and isolation behind us and immerse ourselves in everything we love about Adelaide, old and new.

We are seeking proposals from creative production companies for ready to deliver experiences to take place in the city and North Adelaide from April to June 2022.

The events and activations component of ADL Unleashed builds on the success of East End Unleashed and celebrates Adelaide’s reputation as a member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network as a UNESCO City of Music. These will be held from 19 February to 30 June 2022 and include:

  • Street parties and street closures with expanded outdoor dining
  • Up to three major drawcard, immersive place-based attractions
  • ADL Unleashed Laneways
  • Regular surprise and delight music and pop-up activations.

  • We are open to proposals which attract people to laneways in the city and/or North Adelaide using a range of creative approaches (music, street parties, public art installations)
  • Lanes with one or more hospitality businesses in the area will be highly regarded and working with local business to activate the laneway will be ideal
  • UNESCO City of Music Laneways (Cold Chisel Lane, No Fixed Address Lane and Sia Furler Lane) have been identified as potential laneways for activation.
