People crossing busy intersection

The Smart Move Interim Action Plan 2016-18 was developed after a review of Smart Move, The City of Adelaide’s Transport and Movement Strategy 2012-22 (Smart Move 2012).

The Interim Action Plan provides a bridge between Smart Move 2012 and the City of Adelaide’s commitment to deliver an Adelaide 2040 Plan, which will ultimately direct the development of a new Transport and Movement Strategy.

The City of Adelaide endorsed the Smart Move Interim Action Plan 2016-2018 at its meeting on the 29 November 2016.

The Interim Action Plan promotes:

  • An increased emphasis on smart, innovative and technological solutions
  • A more balanced approach to the delivery of new transport and movement projects
  • A stronger focus on partnerships

The actions in the Interim Action Plan are divided into: Traffic; Parking; Walking and Great Streets; Cycling; Public Transport; Green Travel.
