North Adelaide Community Centre

Located in the heart of North Adelaide in the historic Institute Building, the North Adelaide Community Centre and Library caters to a wide range of local residents and visitors. 

From meditation and dance to language conversation and computer training, the community centre offers a vibrant program of regular activities, and new participants are always welcome. 

The Centre is a venue for a range of events including author talks, Adelaide Fringe, Melbourne Cup and Christmas gatherings.  With a small kitchen, stage area and seating for up to 120, spaces are also available for private hire. 

As well as traditional borrowing services, the adjoining Library has free public internet and Wi-Fi access, daily newspapers, ebooks, local history hub and free bicycle hire through the City Bikes program.

Services

Bike Hire – Adelaide City Bikes
There is free bike hire available at the Centre during opening hours as part of the Adelaide City Bikes program. All you need to produce is your current driver’s licence or passport and then you can get riding!

Exhibitions
New and established artists display their works in a choice of three different exhibition spaces. Exhibitions run monthly and the Centre can book opening night events.

JP Service
Volunteer-run Justice of the Peace services are available at the Centre. No bookings required. 

Mondays & Wednesdays - 10am to12 midday
Tuesdays - 3.30 to 5pm
Thursdays - 3pm to 4pm
Fridays - by appointment

Library Services
The library offers free membership and provides a wide variety of services including fiction, non-fiction, DVDs, CDs, magazines, e magazines and eBooks.  Public computer access, book sales and photocopying is available. For more information, visit the Library.

Volunteers
There are opportunities to volunteer at the Centre – if you are interested in volunteering, see our available vacancies.

Community Garden
There are raised garden beds available for community use with no membership required. Drop in for a visit on the first and third Wednesday of the month 1.30-2.00pm
