Aquatic Centre Roof Upgrade
What’s Happening The Aquatic Centre has been a popular swimming centre for 40 years, but it now needs an upgrade to maintain the highest standards for the City’s swimming community. The first step in upgrading the Centre will be the roof, that is in need of re-cladding. Will the Centre have to close? It is likely that we will need to close the Centre either partially or completely during construction. We will work closely with those who use the Centre to discuss options. All groups who use the Centre will be notified of any closure. When will work to replace the roof start and finish? Council has made the decision to close the Centre in March or April 2011. Further information will be provided when more definite dates are decided.
