Are You About To Visit Adelaide?Whether you are arriving from Overseas, Intrastate or Interstate, why not experience a warm and friendly greeting from an ‘Adelaide Greeter’.
It doesn’t matter whether you are coming here for a holiday or on business, the service is FREE.
Our volunteers are keen for you to have an enjoyable stay in Adelaide. They will help you discover our City, help you find your way around to the numerous attractions within easy reach of the city centre, either on foot or by using our public transport system, buses, trains and trams.
Booking is easy, just fill in and submit the Visitor Request Form and we’ll do the rest!
You will be matched with an Adelaide Greeter who shares your interests and speaks your language.

You and your Greeter will spend up to 2 to 4 hours together, getting to know Adelaide, exploring the City from a local perspective. They will explain how our Public Transport system works, assist you to get the most out of your stay in Adelaide, and perhaps over a cup of coffee, individual questions can be answered, and a pleasant experience shared.
The service is available 7 days a week, between the hours of 9am and 5pm. It is a pre-booked service.
Bookings are required a minimum of three days in advance, and can be made by telephone, facsimile, or online with the Visitor Request Form.
Our Greeters are trained volunteers, enthusiastic South Australians, not professional tour guides, who come from all age groups, from diverse backgrounds and have a variety of interests. A number of our Greeters also speak two or more languages.
‘Greeter’ visits are called ‘orientations’ rather than ‘tours’ due to the nature of our service.
The Adelaide Greeters Service forms part of the Adelaide City Council “Visitor Information Services”, joining the with the City Guides, ‘First Steps’ and ‘Rundle Mall Visitor Information Centre’ Programs.
These programs provide volunteers with an opportunity to meet new people, learn new skills or practice and improve existing skills whilst providing a friendly environment for visitors to our city, and having an enjoyable time doing it.
Global Greeter NetworkAdelaide Greeters is part of the Global Greeter Network, a voluntary association of welcoming programs around the world. All programs are free, offer greeter services as an individual one-on-one experience, and are characterised by enthusiastic local residents who love their home city, and volunteer to conduct these visits.
There are now more than 30 Cities with Greeter programs around the world.
