Art Gallery of South Australia

See one of Australia's finest art collections, housed in one of Adelaide's most beautiful historic buildings. It is centrally located on leafy North Terrace between the South Australian Museum and the University of Adelaide, and has been an important cultural focus since its establishment in 1881, only forty-five years after the first European settlers arrived. The Gallery has extensive collections of Australian (Aboriginal, Torres Strait Island and non-Aboriginal) art, Asian and European art and a diverse calendar of special exhibitions.

eye2eye Fine Art Gallery

A community conscious gallery, eye2eye fosters the growth of local emerging artists and celebrates the talents of permanent professional artists in all artistic media including painting, drawing, photography, jewellery, glass art, printmaking and sculpture. New and exciting exhibitions are opened on the first Friday of every month. The gallery is handily located on Rundle Street, above Alfresco Cafe, and has 3 exhibition spaces which can be hired for non-exhibition events as well.

Experimental Art Foundation

Consisting of a gallery space, bookshop and studios, exhibition programs represent new work that challenge ideas in contemporary art and culture. The Foundation is located in the Lions Arts Centre, the old Fowlers Lion Factory premises.

Flinders University City Gallery

The Flinders University Art Museum exhibition gallery in the city is located at the State Library of South Australia on North Terrace. The Gallery features a dynamic and varied public program comprising six exhibitions each year.

Hill Smith Gallery

A well established gallery which features contemporary art works from local and interstate artists. An average of 10 exhibitions are held each year. Stock is also kept for viewing and purchase.

JamFactory Contemporary Craft and Design

A unique centre for the design, production, exhibition and sale of work by leading and emerging Australian designer/makers. Studios work in the areas of Ceramics, Furniture, Metal and Glass.

Kerry Packer Civic Gallery

This is a public viewing space,  located in the Hawke Building at the University of South Australia, with displays closely relating to the Hawke Centre public program and themes.

Nexus Multicultural Arts Centre

The Visual Arts Program presents works of artists from diverse cultural backgrounds in a range of artforms. Located at the redeveloped Fowlers Lion Factory premises, off North Terrace, there are approximately 10 exhibitions a year at the site.

SAMSTAG Museum of Art 

Adelaide's newest public gallery, in the Hawke Building on North Terrace, offers innovative exhibitions of diverse visual art from local and international artists.

South Australian School of Art Gallery

This gallery offers a platform for South Australian artists, designers, writers and curators associated with the School of Art to showcase their work.

T'Arts Collective

Features local and interstate artists and designers working in Textiles, Ceramics, Glass, Paintings, Jewellery and much more. Regular exhibitions occur in this vibrant shop in Gays Arcade, off Adelaide Arcade in Rundle Mall, with items also available for purchase.

Urban Cow Studio

Located on Frome Street, in the historical East End, this funky studio features exhibits and items for sale from local artists whose works include Ceramics, Jewellery and Glass.
