First Bridge Over the River Torrens
Bronze tablet on a granite obelisk, placed in position April 1931.

Location: Southern Bank of the Torrens Lake.

First Government House
Bronze table located near the spot where the first Government House was erected by marines from H.M.S. Buffalo in 1837. The original Government House was destroyed by fire in 1841.

Location: Entrance to Government House, North Terrace.

First South Australian School
Bronze tablet on a Palmer granite pedestal marking the site of the first South Australian School which opened in May 1838. The building afterwards housed the first public library.

Location: Northern footpath of North Terrace West, near Morphett Street.

Marble fountain honouring a fireman who lost his life in a fire in Rundle Street, December 1886.

Location: Elder Park, King William Road.

His Majesty King Edward VII
Stained glass window bearing a representation of His Majesty in Field-Marshal's uniform with the Royal and the Adelaide Corporation Arms and the names of the members of the Adelaide City Council.

Location: Council Chamber, Adelaide Town Hall.

Colonel William Light
Bronze tripod, monolith of Murray Bridge red granite and pedestal of grey Monarto granite. Memorial to First Surveyor-General of South Australia and Founder of Adelaide.

Location: Light Square.

Colonel William Light
Reputed to be the place where Colonel Light decided on the location of Adelaide, with a square mile of north-south and east-west streets, a central park and surrounding park lands. The spot where you can view this panorama and Colonel Light's statue — with its outstretched arm — is known as Light's Vision.

John McDougall Stuart Expedition
Bronze tablet honouring the John McDougall Stuart Expedition, which successfully crossed the continent of Australia. The expedition started from the Strangways Terrace residence of the late Hon. Sir J. Langdon Bonython, K.C.M.G., on 25 October 1861.

Location: Southern Wall of Carclew, Montefiore Hill.

Lieutenant Duncan Campbell Menzies, (M.C.)
Memorial stone dedicated by J. D. Choat and erected by members of the Menzies family in honour of Lt. Menzies who was shot by the Japanese in Burma, 4 April 1943.

Location: Menzies Crescent off Fitzroy Terrace.

Garden and statue honouring pioneering women; donated by the Women's Centenary Council of South Australia.

Survey of the City
A bronze tablet on a granite obelisk marks the spot where the survey of the City began in January 1837. The first public offices (Land and Survey) were also erected here.
