Credit Union Christmas Pageant 2009

14/11/2009

The world's greatest Christmas pageant will once again fill the streets of Adelaide with colour this November.

Attracting crowds of over 400,000 and televised to millions more, this year's Credit Union Christmas Pageant is set to be the biggest yet, featuring the launch of the first ever "Royal Family" float, designed to reflect the spirit and culture of Australia.

This year's theme is "Families sharing memories". Hopefully families of all kinds will think back on their memories of past pageants and create new memories from this year’s event.

There will also be another attempt at the Guinness World record for the largest Mexican wave. After last year's failed attempt, there will be speakers along the Pageant route plus 300 volunteers to help the crowd wave from start to finish.

Pageant Director Brian Gilbertson says "This year's Credit Union Christmas Pageant will be the biggest yet with more dancers, more floats and some great surprises!" And of course the Pageant wouldn't be complete without a visit from our favourite jolly man in red, Father Christmas!
